it seems truly wise

to replace a sniggering scoff

with a heartfelt laugh.

I begin where I once left off

I warm to thaw ingrown ice.

Putting back things once broken,

my heart reaches to open.

Everything looks nice

Less jaded, less cynical

I catch an actual smile

My world's worth the while

through the rose colored optical
