Butterflies
A symbol of hope, dreams, the tiny feeling in your stomachs, a delicate idea, symmetry, a weapon of mass destruction. Write a poem about anything as long as it includes butterflies (or a butterfly if your that person).

Why’d they have to laugh

You’ll laugh,

I tell you

You’ll laugh

No one ever doesn’t laugh

They all find it funny

But it doesn’t make me laugh

I say they scare me

But no one understands

They say it’s harmless

But I don’t care

The way it flutters

In patterns unknown

Its delicate wings

Haunting my eyes

I want to run

I want to hide

They’ll laugh,

I know

They’ll laugh

Sometimes I run

Sometimes I hide

Then

They laugh,

I tell you

They laugh

It isn’t funny

I say

I’ve tried

I’ve tried

I’ve tried

But I just can’t get over my fear of butterflies
