In a patch of weeds

a flower blooms.

It’s petals vibrant

against the gloom.

Shining pink

in all it’s glory.

Waiting for me

to tell a story.

About my joys,

strife or woe,

whatever ails me,

or hurts me so.

It waits for me

among the weeds.
