You either pour the cereal first, then the milk, or you lose cereal priviledges.

If you pour too much milk first, you have way too much leftover milk after you're finished with your cereal. If you pour less milk, after you pour the cereal, you can always add more milk. You don't know how much of a cereal to milk ratio you need if you pour milk first. You also get to dampen the dry cereal on all layers instead of just what lands in the milk.
