Falling Petals

When first we met he showered me with evian water from glaciers far away

I felt his love caress my limbs with passion

A lush rose bright as crimson, stem evergreen

He broke my petals off one at a time

So quietly they fell

My thorns grew sharper

I watched my beauty fall away, I felt my shine leave me and still i stayed.

He blamed me for my ugliness, my sharp tongue and crass.
