Lies can be a perfect teacher,

When they tell the truth of something deeper.

Through story, metaphor, simile, poetry,

With romance, science fiction, fantasy.

Tales of people, places, that I’m sure,

Will never be and never were.

But reflect the truths that people hide,

Like a mirror looking straight inside.

Both dark and light and in between,

The things we always leave unseen.

While practical things can keep us breathing,

Stories, they give life a meaning.
