Poetic Licence to Kill
Recent entries and comments sparked me again to sabotage my own poetry. So the challenge is to part write something poetic, but at appropriate times destroy its rhythm or rhyme. I found this challenging (it probably shows ha ha!) but it's a really good mental exercise to deliberately take yourself out of the flow!

Rhyme and Reason

It is one thing to simply make up a rhyme,

It is another to come up with it on a drop of a dime,

It can be easier said then done to go line after line,

But sometimes the flow can be read in a measured-

I got you there didn't I?

You were looking forward to rhyme on the last line,

But it was blatantly disrupted, the rhyme undone,

All that hard work, to have the rhythm complete.

Aha! Again you have been tempted with a lie,

Each line I type, is a promise unfound,

You are probably wondering if that is a common trait,

But alas, this whole paragraph was one big mistake!

Once again the rhyme did not match a theme,

I lied to the purpose of each sentence,

I set them up to deceive,

It was easy to do, to rhyme out of line,

I just threw in another sentence to this building incline.

Where is she going with this random poem?

Is she planning on making a point in this mess?

Honestly no, I simply proved myself wrong,

You can ruin your own flow, but still write a song!
