How to Turn a Lie into the Truth

One little lie

To get you on the right path.

Just a little nudge

In the right direction

With words of

"That looks so great"

"Your story was interesting"

"Your artwork is beautiful"

Getting your hopes up

One phrase at a time

Then you add one more lie

On top of it

"I'm sure they loved it"

"They didn't hate your work"

"Maybe it didn't fit their theme."

Lie upon lie

Built into a foundation

Of time and effort

To create a skill

That emulates the lie

That started it.

All because of

One little lie.
