A Desire for Each

Two desires,

Both hungry for fulfilment,

Gnawing at my insides

A longing for freedom,

While wishing to assist

Those around me

One will bring my own joy,

The other will leave

My loved ones in blind disarray

My own happiness

Or theirs?

Which decision is right?

What is best for me?

Either choice will come with strife,

Consequences that'll affect

The entirety of my life

Stretched between

Two distinct desires

Which desire

Is alright to feel?

Will I ever

Truly know?
