Keep me away from trees
They say the apple doesn’t fall far from the tee
But the tree I fell from
Was not one of love
Or consent
The tree I fell from was barbaric
And careless
The tree I fell from was wisked away in the wind
Like pieces of memory not easily forgotten
The tree I fell from was not one I want to replant
So dear God please
Keep me away from trees
