The Gift. Write the story of a gift, passed from one hand to another. Perhaps it is a heart-warming gesture of kindness and goodwill. Or perhaps it is something more foreboding, more sinister. Perhaps it is a simple, material object. Or perhaps it is something more amorphous, more esoteric. Whatever it is, it must be a gift. Fiction or non-fiction, poetry or Prose.

my dear children
the loves of my life
i do not have a lot to give this Christmas
for it has been the toughest year
but i will give you this
my warm arms
to make you feel safe and secure
my strong hands
to make you delicious food
and nurture your little belly's
my loving heart
that sees all of the good in you
my soft words
to reassure you that everything will be alright
