The thread

In the hotel room,

I saw the sofa,

So , of course I checked

under the cushions

for loose change or anything else.

Wouldn't you?

All I found was some dirt

and a folded note.

"Is that it?" Was written on it.

Under that,

in a completely different handwriting,

there was another line:

"Yes. That's all there is"

And a third line, also different script:

"Can we talk about that?"

So I grabbed my pen

added to the thread:

"Not negotiable.

This is what you get ,

whatever it is."

I folded the note again,

and pushed it back,

under the cushions.
