Necessary Distractions from Work
I said it first,
Before I knew what love really was.
Maybe you did.
Maybe that’s why you waited so long.
The pearl still forging, a dew drop
That decided not to evaporate,
in the heat of scrutiny,
uncertainty, certain that eternity would
bring us some fruit.
I like blueberries.
When Osiris met Isis, did he remember
that he was the sun and she the moon?
That even Gods have Gods.
That distance is created from the illusion of
Our math has us begging numbers for the
answers we created
For we are here, playing humans, doing humans,
sometimes being humans.
Our love consumes the darkness,
Leaving little room for doubt,
I still shout.
“Why does this feel so good?!”
Sometimes I’ll rip the cords away.
Afraid of the price I’ll pay,
for surrender to this moment.
And then I’ll remember.
The uncuttable cords are grounded in a
truth that’s too familiar,
we no longer believe it:
Dissolve into the madness,
You’re always rooted.
