What do you mean by "shy"?
Poetry, the shorter the better.
Shy
There is a universe in my mind
No one else knows about.
It's my home
And the only place I feel welcome.
I prefer to keep to myself.
I feel like I’m the only one
Who will ever understand me.
My mind convinces me
No one cares what I think.
I convince myself
The world is better off
Without me making myself heard.
So I just stay in my head.
I listen to and watch
The world around me.
I pay attention
More than people know.
I may seem disinterested.
I just don’t know how to be social
Or interact with others.
I’m just shy.
I’m just me.
Maybe someday
People will accept that.

"I pay attention more than people know" - @khorsegirl I love that line. Too often people assume that if you arent speaking, you also arent listening. Thats why so many people think that if you dont speak fluent english you must not understand any either, but often language comprehension comes much faster than speaking fluency. I find some of the "shyest" people I know (myself included) seem to be the most observant, perceptive, wise.
