Superman

So my daughter (3 years old) asked me if I was superman. She doesn't know who superman is, or what he does or anything (not really sure how she knows of him). Anyhow, I told her no.

I'm sure it's cute to play into that, and later when she does know, she will possibly associate him with me.

I don't want that.

Call me weird, or old fashioned or just plain dumb.

Most of my life has been ruled by me feeling like a failure. I'm pretty hard on myself, and put myself down a lot.

My mindset of telling her I'm superman sets me up to be some fictitious person I cannot be, whether she knows him or not, I feel like I have a standard that is unattainable now.

Secondly, I want to be just daddy to her, I want her to grow up thinking I'm better than superman.

That would be the best feeling.

My thoughts on that.
