Drowning

I convince myself I’m over you.

Sometimes I feel as if I am.

Free to do as I wish, not busy thinking of what you’re doing.

But then I see you again, and our eyes meet.

All of the feelings I’ve been ignoring rush back over, me like a tsunami,

and I find myself drowning.

Drowning in the waves.

Drowning in your eyes.

Drowning in my feelings.

In too deep to be saved.
