O come ye, fair maiden,

to the depths below.

Here you’ll hear the sweetest music

with the waves that flow.

Believe me when we say,

that when nighttime comes around.

You’ll listen from your vessel,

unknowning that you’ll drown:

“O watch out for the waves,

that’ll topple your tiny ship,

And the wind that blows so hard,

that you might even slip!

Over the balcony,

down into the sea,

o come ye pretty fair maiden,

be a mermaid with me!”

As I watch you fall,

into the waves below,

me and my fellow sisters,

will come and say “Hello”.

And when you turn to gaze at us,

with dead-hollowed eyes,

we’ll come to your rescue

and give you a surprise!

that’ll topple your tiny ship,

And the wind that blows so hard,

that you might even slip!

Over the balcony,

down into the sea,

o come ye pretty fair maiden,

be a mermaid with me!”

As we grab you gently,

I softly kiss your lips,

Running fingers through your hair,

I know that you’ll be missed.

As you lay still in my arms,

the ship keeps sailing on,

No one even realizing,

that you are even gone:

that you might even slip!

As I hold you tightly,

for a minute or more;

Your eyes start to flutter

my heart begins to soar.

Then you wake and gaze at me,

With your eyes all sparkly,

I’m as happy as I can be,

’cause you’re a mermaid with me!

Over the balcony,

down into the sea,

is where this pretty fair maiden,

came to be with me!”

As the days turned into months,

and months into years,

Me and my pretty fair maiden,

sing a song for all to hear.

A tale of ships and terrible storms,

whenever they draw near,

and a tale of how I met,

the mermaid I hold dear.
