Albatross
He circles me
in everlasting love
or so he vows
but I feel the noose
from hanging gallows
tightening just before
the floor collapses
the voices strangling
my soul
asking last words
my cry chokes
as life breath
struggles in gasps
his presence’s room
is becoming
infinitely smaller
I’m crushed by
threatening forces
attaching, squeezing
my petrified skin
without releasing
I can live no longer
his shadow looms
rope tightens
around my throat
as I jump
into nothingness
that is hung firmly
around my neck
an expired albatross.
