Bright red jarring letters,

reflections of subconscious,

shifting pain burrowing

into hapless soul.

Shamed edges of death

leave scars blocking

my dark existence.

Frozen chunks of life

scoured harshly,

deep purple abrasions

nourish healing skin

so that life once loved

can be born again.
