That day was different

My name

So simple, so common

Nothing is special about it.

The people call it old fashioned

Some says it's so Spanish

Which brings me to hate it.

But that day it was different

Everyone addressed me with my title and surname

It was also the way you address me whenever you talk to me.

No it was always my title that you use

My title or my status

But that day it was different

You spoke to me

You were about three feet or less away from me

Your tone was different that's why I did not bother to listen first

Then you spoke softly

Addressing me not by my first name nor by my title or status

But by my nickname

My name plus your voice combined sent a chill down my back

Sent the butterflies in my stomach to rally

And made my heart beat louder than any drums.

That day was different.
