Retirement

Before long you’ll acquire

As I tire

Knowledge; a bit

If you sit

My stories are not for the weary

Nor the absent minded

Not for the selfish close minded either

One day you’ll understand

Life get’s out of hand

But it’s how you respond

That creates or destroys bond

Between brothers or sisters

Mothers or fathers

Maids or butlers

Lovers or haters

Dos and don'ts are my friends

Which I ought not to use anymore

Since they carry little weight

With my younger allies

Who come by in the ‘now’

‘Then’ and ‘will’...hmm.

Vocabulary nonexistent beyond today

I am waiting now

For a mutual friend

He could be Death

He could be human

I am sure not which

This adds spark to my life

When all else fails

It’s not daunting, it just is

Join me, i have told what i can ‘now’

I wouldn’t mind listening to you

Just don’t presume you know me

And I will do the same

I won't presume to know myself either

Just kidding... You get what I mean

My jokes seem funnier than ever before

They seem less communicable too

If you finish your story

And you see me motionless

Follow suit

Options are as they come

Either I am dead, or asleep

Or if neither then I am thinking

Thinking... a valuable activity…

Don’t interrupt, I’ll let you know

When I am ready to leave you

But I don’t mean I’ll move

I have spent my whole life moving

It’s still your turn

Depart from my porch

That’s how I ‘leave your company’ these days

It’ll be soon when you tag out like I did

With someone else on your own porch

Thinking…

I guess I didn’t follow my rule

To use few, if any, do’s or don’ts

So If I could impart one thing

Don’t use don’ts and do’s. -Chuckle-

There is too little time

For those words

But still let people know the rules

In some form or matter

Now, I think it’s time for ‘me to leave you’

Get up, put one step in front of the other

You’ll find your way off my porch

Not ‘then’ nor ‘will’, it’s all the same

But Now, if you are not still

I insist,Bill

After all you are tagged in

My human friend and kin

Is this your porch or mine?

‘Now’ is outside of time

Not sure I know

I guess, like most things, it’s just so...
