adrenaline

from the moment we met

i felt a tingle in my toes

like i was standing on top

of the tallest building

i guess i never should have jumped

fading

darling, i cannot lie to you

i dream of the day

the world forgets

i was ever its lover

and i wait patiently

for the moment

i leave the burning bellies

of my protectors

so that finally

i may rest

Challenge
Challenge of the Month VI: April
Something to Lose. What does it feel like to cherish something or someone with every fiber of your being? Is it terrifying, as though any second it could disappear? Or is it a source of comfort, solid ground to stand on, an anchor? Write about having something to lose. $100 purse to the winner. The best entries will be shared with publishers. Fiction or non-fiction, poetry or Prose.

depths

if you are still here with me

can you whisper something warm

or send a bird in your place

to bat its wings in my direction

and if you are not here

maybe you could somehow

emerge from wherever you are

(wherever you went)

to bundle me up in your sweet scent

if you find me today

and i’m still crying on this wooden bench

then maybe you could tell me

that you miss me

and that you’d do anything

to make your way home

to me

Challenge of the Week CVI
Betrayal. Tell the story of broken trust. Write about betrayal. Fiction or non-fiction, poetry or Prose.
oliviaongoing

at least you have your freedom

you told me

you couldn't keep me safe

so you'd set me free

but i feel

more captive than ever

oliviaongoing

this doesn’t taste good

all these poems about honey

and sweet words dripping from heavy lips

we should be rhyming about bee stings

not the taste of tea at two

or honey combs

just swollen shoulders

from the labor of this love

dog bites

not cherry stems

oliviaongoing

codependence

my body was sore

from holding the weight of the world

off your shoulders

I am 21 years or older.
