my responsibility in becoming a therapist is laced in weaving through self-realization. a commitment to healing myself from my past. from my preconceived notions. recognizing my own darkness. experiencing my own subjective depths. being in touch with my own limitations. moving through my own initiations. my own rites of passage. my own spiritual crises. so that I may serve in my duty as a helpful guide for others as they travel in their own transcendent realms. their own disintegration. into their own ultimate realization.

only you do.

and maybe your friends & family,

maybe the neighbors & your coworkers.

at the end of the day,

you can let the big & bright

the rich & famous

fascinate and inspire you,

but don't get stuck in the muck

of awe and envy.

small is beautiful.

there is still magic to be found

even in the mundane.

Soak up the sweet nectar

of accomplishments you've made

thus far on your journey.

We don't give ourselves enough time

to simply celebrate all of the steps it took

to get us right here, right now.

You deserve to melt into it,

to taste all of it -

the flavor of joy you've created.

I unfold

and let the Universe

fold itself back into me.

I am free

as I hold space

for heaven & hell

to dance in-between.

We were never meant

to be small.

We came here

to make noise,

to be as big

& as bold as possible.

We were never meant

to idealize

fantasize

or follow.

We are made to lead,

to be our ideal self

our own fantasy

to follow our chosen hero - yourself.

To be as sexy & sensual

as firece & fiery

as creative & candid

that this world adores us to be.

We were never meant

to be small

we are made to be bigger than this life.

What if

instead of cursing the Universe

for not giving you all of the "good" things you seek

and appearing to only gift them to others,

you see the people who do have

many wonderful things in their lives

and let that be a whisper in your ear

that your life an be that good or better...

Let their luck be a sign

that yours in close in sight.

leaves don't choose

or contemplate

where they will fall

they just fall

& as they land

they make peace

with their

newfound friends.

Instead of turning away from your monsters

move toward them,

stand your ground

& demand to know,

"What are you doing in my mind?

What do you have to teach me?"
