I want to kiss you

With eyes wide open.

That way I can see

What it looks like

To touch the sun

And catch on fire

His words are

a gateway drug;

They are powerful,

Enticing,

Disjointed,

And a little more

Than dangerous

Lilac Love

How do you explain

That you can't sleep

Because of spring

And the Rain; all of it

Laced in lilac love.

So you try to capture

It- remember it so

When winter comes,

You can picture the

Roses: still bask in

What little remains of

The scintillating sweet.

Umbrellas

Exhaust drips from his face

like war paint after rain.

He wears his fear deep in

The pockets of old jeans,

And folds himself into

The voice of yesterday;

Caught up in the feel

Of transparent pain.

Cold-Blooded

Blood rushes back

Into hands after

Holding on for too long.

Cold, like ice cubes

Beneath the skin,

You wait until the

Life returns to you,

Through you,

Yet nothing can

Make you feel

More alive than

The warmth of his

Blood

coursing through

Your veins...

Battleground

His fingertips

Have sent bombs

To destroy this

battle ground

The same fingers

That have rubbed

The life

Back into diluted

Hearts

~a perfect war

Stranger Again

Written with Grace Meinke

Of darkness and sound and smell

Was he, trapped in the pigments

Of wrong-ness, of bad influence.

A two-dimensional presence--

Yet somehow more an absence.

Sharply silky against the skin;

Tugs at the hair, the gut.

Addictive and unsettling.

It hurts to be happy sometimes.

Yet the moon only shines in darkness,

And he is the sky, the stars

Surrounded by full blooming black.

He makes you wonder if it is

Worth it to bare the Night,

To watch his light form

Constellations around you.

Soon, chased away by the sun,

Warmth is your reminder,

And suddenly time has been lost--

The Earth won't stop spinning,

the galaxies change

And suddenly,

He is a Stranger again

I hate you,

Yet I tend to you--

I care for you.

And that, is how

I feed you.

Cyan

Her footprints touch

the face of Jupiter

With the soles of

Two-year sneakers.

The heart buried in her chest

Beats lightyears away,

Yet I can hear its voice

in my memory; drawn

with cyan crayons,

-unnatural blue-

I close my eyes

And wonder if its possible

For the same love

To be in more

Than one

Place at

Once.

Tie me up in Cherrie stems,

So you can still smell the sweet.

Leave me; hands tied and

Hardly breathing

So your rose red tongue

Can forget about me
