The thought of you dances gracefully through my mind.

Your pale green eyes resemble the pale moonlight

Your smile can light up this town

Your charcoal colored hair flows carelessly through the wind.

Almost as careless as your decision to love me

I still fail to understand how perfection

Could show any affection towards me

Because my eyes do not resemble the pale moon light

My smile can not light up this town

And my hair does not flow carelessly through the wind.

go easy on me

I stood with my heart between my knees and my lungs up between my eyes and I gasped for a breath of legitimacy I grasped for a guess at infinity and I recognize it wasn't wise but foresight was never defined with clarity and looking back I realize that exhales have always been guaranteed while it's inhales I've taken for granted

feet planted

pounding

prodding

pupating

I stood there and sighed at the sky

I did not move until the wind

tripped me

toppled me

tumbled me

down

my own

ravine

Challenge
Poetry contest. Twenty word minimum. First place will be decided based on the poem, of course, though the number of comments posted by others will be factored in (critiques or praise, no one word or three word quickies) and those who comment should "like" it to keep the judges looking for updated reads. Write a poem about anything. Aim for the gut. Winner gets $100.

Words capture her

Feelings destroy her

The killer

kills her

Aliens take her

Monsters find her

The seeker

seeks her

Friends know her

Enemies hate her

The stalker

Stalks her

No one wants her

June 26, 2015. Gay marriage becomes federally legal in the U.S. What does "Love Wins" mean to you?

Love Wins!

It means that

A lesbian couple who have

Loved each other for quite

Some time now

Can finally

Get married

Because their state allows it.

It means that

A lonely boy

Who has his eyes another boy

Can work up the courage to

Talk to him

And say

"Would you like to

Go to the movies?"

And that other boy

Can be unafraid

Of saying

"Yes"

It means that

A girl, who has

Been secretly in love

With her best friend

Can look her in the eyes

Say

"I love you"

And kiss her.

And her best friend

Can smile

And whisper

"I love you too"

It means that

Finally

People will be allowed to love

Who they were born loving

And they don't have to shy away

That they can

Finally

Just love

Freely.

Time to Sleep

It's time to sleep,

A promise, we will always keep,

Put down your little head,

On your comfy bed,

Tomorrow is coming fast,

With no sleep. you won't last,

Tired and grumpy,

Tomorrow looks grumbly,

So lower those lids,

Remember, I love you kids,

Tucked in tight,

Kept safe through the night.

Challenge
Write a story or poem from the POV of a tree.

Many Leaves

As I stand here,

The world speeds by,

Many leaves are budded, blown away, and borrowed,

The seasons drift along,

While everything gets just a little smaller.

Soon,

The time will come,

When I can peer over these human constructs,

And stare far beyond the horizon.
