A tragic incident that nearly cost Lupia his leg led him to take

Lee Baxter Promotions has announced a night of boxing at the REBEL Entertainment Complex, Toronto. The night of boxing will be headlined by Nick Fantauzzi (11-0, 5 KO’s) as he prepares to take on Greg Weeks (3-2 3KO’s) for the Canadian Light Heavyweight Title on July 21st.

“Nick is proven time after time that he keeps fans on the edge of their seats all night, he deserves to headline a show and what better way than to fight for the Canadian title”

Fantauzzi’s last fight at REBEL is one to beat, after he dominated Darren Fletcher on the Samuel Vargas vs Przemyslaw Runowski undercard in front of a packed crowd. Fantauzzi has been hard at work, training at the new Hardknocks Boxing Club location under the watchful eye of Head Trainer Billy Martin.

Deep into his training camp, a focused Fantauzzi said “I can’t wait to headline at REBEL on July 21st for the Canadian title. I’m excited to make a statement and get the win in front of my fans.”

Co-featuring on the event is the seasoned Steve Rolls (21-2, 12 KO’s). Rolls was the main event at Madison Square Garden in his last fight as he took on the heavy-handed Edgar Berlanga for the NABO Super Middleweight Title, in Berlanga’s home city. A stellar performance from Rolls took the fight the distance and Berlanga secured a decision.

Amanda Galle (6-0), Canada’s female Super Bantamweight champion, is back in action and looking to make it 7-0. Galle owned the ring and took home the Canadian title in her last fight against Tania Walters on the Vargas Runowski undercard.

Making his much anticipated professional debut is former Canadian National Team member James Hughes. Hughes is ready to showcase his talent on July 21st for the first time on the professional scene – be sure to keep an eye on him.

As he prepares for his next bout, Johnson is working on his game

Demetrious Johnson is looking for nothing short of perfection when he meets a Adriano Moraes inside the circle for the second time. ‘Mighty Mouse’ will collide with Moraes for the ONE flyweight world title at ONE 161 on Amazon U.S. primetime on August 26.

Moraes came out on top in their first meeting, claiming a shocking first-round victory over the MMA legend. It was the first knockout loss in Johnson’s career.

As he prepares for his next bout, Johnson is working on his game even more to be the best version of himself on fight night.

In a recent interview, Demetrious Johnson told ONE Championship:

“As I said, I’m working my ground game, working on my stand-up. I’m making sure when I step in the circle on 26 August in Singapore, I’m the best version of myself. That’s what I’m always striving for. I’m always striving for perfection and I just hope that I go out there and execute and not make any mistakes.”

The 35-year-old Johnson views his fight against the Brazilian as a major test, but doesn’t believe that it’s his biggest yet:

“Every fight that I fight from here on out is always going to be my biggest fight, whether it’s for a World Title or not.”

Demetrious Johnson is still one of the best in the world

Demetrious Johnson has amassed a total of 30 wins in a career that spans over a decade and a half. ‘Mighty Mouse’ secured three straight wins upon his arrival in ONE Championship, along the way claiming the ONE Flyweight World Grand Prix Championship.

Winning the tournament earned him a shot at Adriano Moraes’ flyweight throne, however he was stopped in the first round of their eventual encounter.

A year later, both Moraes and Johnson were on the same card once again, though they were facing different opponents.

‘Mikinho’ successfully defended his crown against the lethal Yuya Wakamatsu, while Johnson put Muay Thai phenom Rodtang Jitmuangnon to sleep in their mixed-rules matchup at ONE X.

I’m so delighted to be fighting back at home

A very fun domestic clash is on the horizon, as Chris Billam-Smith and Isaac Chamberlain are set to square off on a July 30th BOXXER show in Bournemouth.

Billam-Smith (15-1, 11 KO) and Chamberlain (14-1, 8 KO) sit right behind Lawrence Okolie and Richard Riakporhe, who handed them the only losses of their careers, on the stacked British cruiserweight scene. Billam-Smith in particular has been on an absolute tear of late, unifying the British, Commonwealth, and European titles with a pair of wins over Tommy McCarthy. while Chamberlain most recently finished Dilan Prasovic in less time than it took Lawrence Okolie.

The winner of this one could very easily be on the fast track to contention; while Billam-Smith is number two with the WBO behind the already eliminator-bound Mateusz Masternak, he’s number three behind Riakporhe with the IBF. An eliminator rematch is almost certainly on the table if he can get past Chamberlain, which is admittedly easier said than done.

Billam-Smith said, “I’m coming home! I’m so delighted to be fighting back at home in front of my friends, family and supporters. Atmosphere is why I got into boxing and on 30th July the atmosphere is going to be electrifying. As I always said, it doesn’t matter who is in the other corner, I just want to fight back at home. In front of my home crowd, I always perform.”

We’re doing everything we can in our power to make this fight

IBF, WBO, WBC junior welterweight champion Josh Taylor believes Jack Catterall is coming off as a desperate fighter.

They collided back in February in Glasgow, with Taylor winning a controversial twelve round split decision.

Taylor was dropped in the eighth round and fully admits that his performance was lackluster.

Since then, Catterall has been extremely vocal about getting a rematch and he’s continuously gone after Taylor on social media.

Taylor initially planned to vacate his titles and make an immediate move to the welterweight division.

However, he now intends to remain at 140-pounds to set the record straight with Catterall.

Before that rematch can happen, Taylor must satisfy a mandatory defense against the WBC’s top man, Jose Zepeda.

After Zepeda, Taylor makes it clear that he’s very eager to “shut the mouth” of Catterall.

“He’s coming across a little bit desperate,” Taylor told Sky Sports. “I can understand where he comes from, he felt like he won the fight, I’d be disappointed as well.

“But I wouldn’t be moaning and groaning the way he’s going on and on, it’s just ridiculous. I can understand how he’s feeling, he felt like he won the fight, I felt like I did just enough to win the fight so it was a close fight, it could have gone either way, the judges gave it to me. The way he’s acted since and the way he’s coming across on social media makes me want to shut him up. It’s one of the main reasons I stayed at 140 so I could get that fight.

“We’re doing everything we can in our power to make this fight happen alongside the Zepeda fight as well. If not after the Zepeda fight then next. This time around the motivation is there which I never had the last time, the motivation is there because of everything that has happened since the fight. Hopefully the sooner the better for me. The only reason I’m staying at the weight is to fight Catterall.”

Taylor initially planned to vacate his titles and make an immediate

Usyk, the current holder of the WBA, WBO and IBF belts, sat alongside Alex Krassyuk and Egis Klimas on the top table at the Four Seasons hotel on Park Lane, London, spoke little.

But the 35-year-old, who left the war in his native Ukraine in order to train in Poland, explained his decision to fight.
