You're a beautiful rose

Protected by thorns

In a garden of weeds

Evils hide their horns

You deserve better

You can’t waste your time

Weed out the imposters

Don’t get intertwined in their lies

Your beauty is enticing

But you’re more than just this

You can always outsmart them

Be aware they exist

They believe you’re a dandelion

With one selfish breath

They’ll blow you to pieces

Left to gather what's left

Trust your instincts; pay attention

Stay on the alert

You won’t find what you need

By sifting through dirt

Your petals softly whisper

While your thorns scream in vain

For that is the language of the Flowers

And deception is its game

Like the sweet Oleander,

With its dainty petals looking friendly

For it wishes you to touch them

And prays your consequences will be deadly

Hear the Angel’s Trumpet,

As it plays lulling a tune

But be careful not to listen

For you’ll never awake beneath its moon

See the Hemlock,

With its complexion so fair

It beckons you closer with a secret

Telling you that it has some to spare

Hidden beneath its beauty

The culprit remains unnamed

For that is the language of the Flowers

And deception is its game

On a path of stone

with a Marigold in hand.

I traverse a vibrant world,

a flourishing land.

Into the Garden of Eden

full of trees and flowers.

A paradise unlike any other,

blessed by Heaven’s powers.

It is there we meet,

under the boughs of the Tree.

The branches grasping, leaves shaking,

as if to embrace me.

Smiling as they approach,

and entwine my fragile soul,

The Marigold falls...

I can finally let go.

I love you

But the seeds you planted in my soil

they’re poisoning

encroaching on my tulips

roots are cramped

lilac petals shed onto the garden floor

And my pistils won’t fire

my flowers backs are hunched don’t even dare to look at the sun.

angry green ivy weaves through the rows

making sure our purple faces won’t look up.

staring at the rich land makes me want to

come back to it

start over

become Earth once again

my body will rot

instead of my soul

where a green glare won’t strike fear

snails would munch on my wilted flesh

hopefully you’d salvage my seed and save me for a special plot

one that was meant for us all along

plum colored cheeks proud for acres.

there it goes but I’m ready,

a spiny thorn gouges my bulb

and just before life flickers out

I catch sight of you

suddenly I don’t want to drop your gaze,

I want life, I want you.

But, you are truly breathtaking

and as long as I’m on this earth

I will love you.

This one special sunflower has a special power.

He shines and gives off heat during a rain shower.

When he glows you can see his hidden power.

This sunflower has a friend named Daisy.

She’s not special or lazy,

Nor is she crazy.

The sunflower loves her a lot,

She's all he’s got,

He loves her even though he’s hot.

I hope one day my loves talks to me in the language of flowers—i’ll find aster flowers in my shoes before I run out the door and gardenias by my bedside and when I roll over they’ll smile their crooked smile—on nights we hunger for each others company they’ll hand me bouquets upon bouquets of red roses and sunflowers—I want bellflowers on the days I can’t get out of bed and jasmine and honeysuckle beside my plate when I feel shameful about my waist size—when it becomes too bad I want them to stop me from eating amaryllis—I want all forms of hydrangeas, hyacinths, moss, and azalea to form my iris—I want all flowers and their stems for no matter how sharp the thorns the flower will always be beautiful—I want primroses and cloves—promises and truths that I can’t ignore

Modest and sweet

I look for you in quiet corners.

Not for me the rose or tulip-

Violet, my dear,

I'm all yours!

A meaning is hidden in the flower.

Red is to be given to the lover.

To inflame a passion,

That is for no other.

White is for the pure.

For the one that is sure.

To teach an innocent lesson,

In order to cure.

Yellow is for the wise.

Who are sure to rise.

In the path of succession,

He flies.

Purple is for those who wonder.

To be torn asunder.

For reincarnation,

For there is a meaning in the flower.

My hue radiates vibrancy and serenity

Which ought to keep you peppy and calm

It also exudes splendor and breeze

Which is empowering and rejuvenating

My fragrance occupies the space

Which gives a break from everyday fumes and burns

I add sweetness in the air through my sheer existence

Which allows you to breath a gust of clean natural scent

Detailed to the crisp outline

I am indeed a masterpiece

People flock to admire my beauty and goodness

You can be one too
