Spring

She casts her warm smile upon her children

The sleeping babes feel the tender embrace

Yawning, they unfurl, showing their faces

The neighbors feel the shift and awake

The elders renew with vigor

Slowly her family rises

We call it spring.

Fall

(a sodden and soggy haiku)

rain upon rain, falls

the desultory drizzle

wets my shabby soul

I am 21 years or older.
