After Your Crush

They wouldn't call it a crush if it didn't hurt.

And it really does hurt for the first couple days.

It hurst so bad you cry into your pillow at night and you're so emotionally sick and tired that it affects you physically. Life goes on around you, but without that one person, the one that was your everything, it goes on without you.

You don't think you'll ever get over him, and when you see him with another girl, you assess her and compare her with yourself. It's because she's thinner. She's prettier. Her hair is blonde. She doesn't have acne like me. She has flawless skin.

You tell yourself you're not enough.

You tell yourself you can't live without them.

That life can't go on.

But it does.

After all, time doesn't stop for anyone. Fortune does not favor you.

So even though you tell yourself you won't, you eventually move on.

And even though you tell yourself you won't, you eventually fall in love again, with someone else.

And just like you promised to yourself everytime he walked by, you never forget him.
