Flutter[ed]

her butterflies

fluttered around

his beating heart

excitement flashed

in their eyes

flood of chemicals

released

tangled up

in chemistry

triggered

strong desire

to be there

for each other

stronger

by the day

he overwhelmed

by the sudden

life

metamorphosis

slowly spun

his cocoon

to insulate himself

from her savage affection

she ripped

his silky threads

trying to get in

he pushed her away

in the sweetest way

she persisted

but he gave in

he flew away

to the north part

of new world

spun his new cocoon

share no space

with someone else

left her stranded

with broken heart;

she tried to kill

the butterflies

with the remaining pieces

of her shattered world

but to no avail.

You Don’t Even Know Them

It's easy to fall in love

You don't believe me?

Everybody has a type that their attracted to

and your no different

When that person walks by

The person who is your type

your heart races a bit

even though you don't know them

You become interested

even if it's only for a moment

but you walk on by

because you don't know them

It's easy to fall apart

I know you believe me

To think about someone all the time

and you don't even know them

to be distracted all the time

and make stupid decisions

because your attracted to someone

and you don't even know them

To ache inside and know there's nothing you can do

that you can barely function

and it seems utterly ridiculous

because you don't even know them

Could somebody be in love with you?

and you don't even know them

Could somebody be falling apart for you?

and you don't even know them

Millions of times a day, somebody is falling in love with someone

and falling apart for someone

and they don't even know them

What I Was Once Told

I was once told

That men are supposed to be nice.

That when you find “the one”,

He will treat you like the queen you are.

What i wasn’t told

Was that

You shouldn’t trust all of them.

The kind that

Watch you a little bit

Too close.

The kind that are a little bit

Too nice.

The kind that

Reassure you that

He was “just being friendly”.

You take his word,

And you give him a chance.

The first time he hits you

It felt like you were just hit by a bus,

Losing all feeling

In the place he abused.

Bruises and tears flood the scene.

He gets on his knees

And promises that

He “didn’t mean to hurt you.”

He promises he “won’t do it again.”

Begging you to stay.

Things will change.

When he forces himself on you

Even though you said no

At least a thousand times.

He’s a ticking time bomb.

He blows up like a grenade

BOOM

When he doesn’t get his way.

He’s the kind that remembers to tell you

That you are no different

Than the trash he threw out

Last week and

That you’ll never amount to anything,

You are worthless.

He undresses you

Of your pride and dignity.

He leaves you with nothing

But yourself,

Huddled in the corner of the bathroom,

Sobbing.

Gasping for air and

Thinking

“He’s right.

I am nothing,

I am worthless,

And

I will never amount to anything.”

I was once told

That men are supposed to be nice.

But i never knew that

One man

Could change my thoughts

And mar the memories

Of what i was once told.

For the Ones who have Every Thing

a snow globe he gave

and left it at that—

not a word, no note

she stood at the Stop

beneath the street lamp

to kill the foreboding

of standing alone

two snowflakes adrift

traffic returning—

no one at the curb

footsteps waken her

eyes full of sorrow

she holds her Snowman

and his broken dome

arms like second scarves

on a moonless night—

comforting the Thought

that he had longed to be free

In The Laughter

Bring me your fragrant philter which I need; make it sweet, strong spirit, answer now your smile from afar.

Silver moon take this far, use it well, while the laughter rises high.

In our hearts and souls that has lasted a day away.

Let water drops of dew, come onto these charms that brew,

as pure as the glorious bloom!

Hearts ease a bloom.

Brings me health, strength, cheerfully.

Heart you may feel, hands work to this day.

Obsession

There is a fine line between love and obsession.

A dichotomy of extremes,

Brightest light and darkest blight,

Two sides of the same alluring coin.

Love is blind,

Obsession is blinding.

Love is the light in the dark,

And obsession is the dark in the light.

Love is the purest joy,

Obsession, the most poignant pain.

Love is all you need,

And obsession is more than you can stand.

Love will heal you,

And obsession will tear you apart,

Piece by piece,

And leave you whimpering in pain.

Falling Means Breaking

"Papa, what does it mean to fall in love?"

The sound of his daughter's voice captured Wolf's attention.

"Why do you ask?" He questioned.

"Auntie said that love made you stupid." She answered matter of factly.

He sighed heavily, he was going to have words with his sister. "So instead of asking me to explain your aunt's reasoning, you'd rather ask me what it means to fall in love?"

She looked up at him finally, revealing her gorgeous silver and green eyes. Heterochromia, they called it.

"I figured Auntie was being facetious." He chuckled at her word choice. She was incredibly intelligent. "And I wanted to know what falling in love with Mama meant to you."

There it was, the real reason she asked. He leaned back in his seat as thoughts of his daughter's mother filled his mind. He could still feel her touch in the middle of the night, felt the heat from her body lying beside him, and even tasted her kisses when he was lost in thoughts of her.

"I was a bad man when I met your mother. I didn't have good intentions with her; I wanted to break her spirit and her heart. It was a game for me." He answered truthfully. She was still looking at him so he continued, "I wanted her to fall in love with me so I could break her heart. I wanted her to hate." Siren stared at him in confusion. "I was a bad man. A monster. Your mother never broke; instead, she broke me. I was losing myself to the game I was playing. I was losing sight of my individuality, and she made me different. She broke me to the point that I didn't know myself anymore and I hated that she made me feel that way. I hated that she had power over me while I had no power over her. I hated her."

Siren blinked at him, "Papa, I'm confused."

He smiled softly, "Falling in love means giving someone the power to break you; it means falling apart. Falling apart meant that I could build myself stronger and better. Love made me stronger."

His daughter smiled, but then frowned, "Then why did Auntie say that love made you weak?"

"Because she's a bitch." He took a sip of his coffee, "And you can tell her I said that if she asks."

Perfect Mutant

In such little time love can go from being a bright red heart shaped balloon, on a string floating by your side to a ball and chain around your ankle. From a valentines day card declaring love to a "Dear John" letter. Love can be fickle and fleeting or it can be strong and enduring. Like the weather love can be very changeable, from a cool refreshing breeze to a rapid devastating tornado ripping through your life. It can be the glue that keeps everything together, or the very thing to tear it all apart!

Phases of Love

A little of both, really. Love is made up of -- how to describe it, two phases. The first is falling in love. You see a man or woman, and everything becomes background noise to him or her. You kind of can't help wanting them. Before you know it, you've fallen into phase two, falling apart. You are slowly being to divided into how to act around this person. You are slowly losing track of daily habits. Even your body at some point, can't seem to function without this person. Love is quite the crazy, isn't it?

Means to Destruction

Love is the means to the end and the beginning of a story.

Maybe the story is a mystery or maybe it is a tragedy.

The end of the story may end on a high note

Or their world will come crashing down around you.

Love is strained and hurtful

Love is daring and fruitful

Love is putty in the hands who can wield it
