Abandoned Life

Rippling tide tickled in

Foaming cream embellished

frothing the creature

embraced within

curiosity piloted me

toward sodden shape

kissed by eddies

bathed by ocean tears

dusted with cinnamon sand

bedecked by sea creatures

flecks of sea worn shells

I extended my hand

to brush off the grains

recoiled in horror

threw caution to wind

excised the seaweed

sheltering her nose

pale lifeless eyes

resigned to fate

abandoning life

fearing its pursuit

too titanic to swim

through her misery

tide flowed out

taking the flotsam

the dregs of her life

leaving no traces.

I wondered with pain

if she had drowned

but my pith

sank with certainty

suicide with the tide.

Self-Restraint

Sit on your hands if you must,

tinker not with the Real world!

You know not what It's made of

Our realm is Dream and here we

are King and Queen

We shall reign on this Parade,

revel in our own pretend!

Citing ancient wisdom from

troves of living tales retold

by Trolls and Such.

We'll be heros in the end,

Supermen in discipline!

Slaying those demonic foes

That goad real Experiments

upon our skins.

at night

pain slips through my veins,

surges through my heart

rests upon my chest,

I gaze at the stars and feel

the emptiness that you left behind

I feel hollow

I feel drained

so pointless it seems

when you're not around,

so meaningless and forced

to smile,

to hope,

to live,

and yet I do,

I smile through my pain

I hope through my worries

and take breaths of life

that make me go on,

I am relentless in staying afloat,

even when I drown in my past

fighting the waves,

uncertain of my future

and fearing the things that make me whole,

that make me human

because the same things that glue me together

are also tearing me apart...

I am here world

look at me,

even though I'm broken

I'm still here...

caring,

loving,

feeling,

I am part of a bigger plan

that I do not comprehend,

slowly filling in the gaps

and always looking for clues

I am here world

still here,

still smiling,

carrying a heart

capable of fitting

all of this hot mess...

I am here world, here I am...

Stand

Do not believe the lie you're told

that none could ever have and hold

another heart for days beyond

love's first soft blush. Extend each frond

of daily life that grows to bush

without a need for self-served push;

to yield, at times is stronger still

than all demands voiced loud and shrill.

Stand side by side; love heart to heart;

endure with patience days apart

as each arrives, then passes on

beyond the missing pieces. Drawn

as deep on deep from well to cope,

to nourish, heal, confess in hope

that more is offered other's way

than longed for first. And then, just stay.

HATRED

I feel strong about hatred,

and every sense of the word.

Where people kill people

just to be heard.

Where families battle,

even try to rebel.

And innocence is faint

and no one cares.

To look at me differently,

because you don't like my clothes.

To stare at me forever,

then turn and look down your nose.

You didn't give me a job,

because I know it better than you do.

You find fault with me

because they found fault in you.

You don't like my house,

Because it's too close to yours.

Yet, we live the same way and do the same chores.

We were all made to be perfect,

no matter the color, wealth, or gender.

I feel its way pass the time,

for the hatred to SURRENDER!

Teen Triumph

She's no longer a daisy

Plucked from the stem.

She's no longer a daisy

Living to please men.

She's the vast lands of trees

Dancing into oblivion.

She's an entire forest

Growing from within.

A Woman’s song

Destined by an angry fellow,

hastened by her Mother's bellow,

beaten back by all lifes' weather,

gagged and bound with pinching teather,

swindled, fooled, taken for granted,

forever damaged by cruel words chanted.

She stood with deep set battle scars,

and cursed the fate trapped in the stars.

For she was born for greater things,

and she would fly with broken wings.

Virtue and a woman's courage,

were strength enough for her to flourish.

Broken

I'm well aware what pain can teach

My sins are many and diverse.

I chased a dream beyond my reach.

For this, a punishment, I've not known worse.

I lie in pieces on the ground,

Gasping for breath in fragile state

Groans and whimpers the only sound

For when you're beaten bloody by the hands of fate.

Pain as dark and deep as night

Claws its way through every thought

Wounds as blinding as any light

Tell me my battles have all been fought.

Laying here, I'll soon be dead,

Another victim of the climb.

The vultures circle overhead,

Waiting patiently for their time.

But I know what they don't,

They'll starve, but I won't.

And I have nothing to fear,

Cause I'm not staying down here.

Path of the War Worn

A thousand blades glimmer in the moonlit night

Scattered around a drenched field

Handles tinted crimson from the fight

Many broken in contact with spear and shield

They lay stuck in the soft soil

Laid to rest next to their masters

Hundreds dead for the price of being loyal

The worst of manmade disasters

Some corpses decapitated

As maggots and vultures eat their fill

Respect is given to the fallen hated

Bodies stacked into wagons and buried as they warp and freeze still.

For those who return

Only two paths remain

One of a normal, peaceful, quiet life-long journ

The second filled with horror and violence until going insane.

So which is better

To forget all that has been done

And become your heart’s traitor

Or a life full of violent dreams which cannot be outrun?

Only you can decide

The laws of society which say to move on

Or that of the heart and soul that tell not be to yourself a con

So which to set do you abide?

The time to choose is now fast approaching

A life-time of decisions

On that path you are now devoting

Walk carefully my friend and avoid collisions.

Hopelessness

There is a place that exist that is far worse than going to hell,

It's not a physical place that's an inferno of layers or jail,

It's a state in which one stumbles into part choice and part chance,

It's a place so terrible I'd prefer to ask the devil to dance,

At least in hell there is fire burning for light and people around you who suffer the same fate,

The place that's far worse has no light, and no others, and there there is no escape,

For in hell you can repent and maybe god take pity and bring you back above,

In this dark place there is return, no feelings of love,

Here you are alive yet dead, you are neither here nor there,

You try to ask for help but no one else cares,

By this time you have tried it all to stay positive and believe,

They say it can't rain forever, but now the waters so high you can't breathe,

You've exhausted all faith, prayers seem to be just left on unread,

There's no running away either, so you'd rather be dead,

It's hard for you to understand, they say you reap what you sow,

And you've planted good seeds but none seem to grow,

Instead of a great harvest you find yourself in a famine,

You contemplate why and all you were planning,

How can it be pouring rain yet nothing has grown,

You've lost everything, family, friends and your home,

Don't lose your faith, that's the one thing you'll hear,

And you keep on believing but then there goes a year,

This is when you stumble into the place for which I speak,

you've been beaten without time to recover so you now its defeat,

You can avoid this place even when you've lost all of your tangible things,

But once you lose your hope then the final bell rings,

To all of you wondering if what I'm telling is true,

I'm stuck in here now and I'm describing the view,

There is no going back for me but for you there's still time,

If I had known that losing hope sends you here, I would have never lost mine.
