Sea Skin

I am

     the soothing tide

     drifting on back strokes,

     footprints left as treasure

     in dawning foam

     of lapping teal waves.

I am

     watching weeping

     white diamond wind

     tossing oceans in

     salt of briny breeze,

     kissing azure ocean

     of white capped dreams.

I am

     skin of the sea rising

     to frothed crescents,

     canopy of waves

     sheltering my soul,

     alone, holding ocean

     in my sieved fingers

I am

     rich cobalt view

     of serene passion,

     floating above surface

     before diving into depth,

     sunlit smile and silence.

I am

     uncharted waters waiting

     for you to decipher

     blush of shell-toned sky,

     a soaring seagull

     at cusp of cerulean sea.

I am

     sailing my ship

     to unknown horizons

     in destiny of ballads,

     strolling endless shore

     of no regrets.

Uh...I dunno...

Well, okay then

I enter this with an I Love You

And that in itself may speak volumes

Who I am

Has not even an inkling of who I am

Who is to say I am no one else

Inside the impermanence of body

Belonging to nothing

Or belonging to you

Who

Is to say?

Not I

Rise

I am the sun,

A single star,

A spec of dust in a colossal universe,

Small against the crimson giants.

So often my light is covered up,

Hidden by the clouds of fear,

Silenced by the cold darkness,

Or the world just turns away.

I am loved and I love many,

But they rarely get too close,

For no one wants to burn and fall,

So in the darkness I am alone,

Yet in the darkness I am bright,

I learnt to shine on my own,

Even as it sets my heart on fire,

Burning through my soul,

As every ray comes at a price.

I am what to always see at day,

But never look directly at,

I am what you forget at night,

But  miss when it cold,

When you're afraid of the dark,

When you need hope,

And even when I lose my light,

In the morning I will rise.

My concepts bee loose

Origins.

I am made of paper

Like the little cut outs people made in elementary school

In my purest form, I was a strong tree standing tall

I was a marvel of nature

I was turned into paper

Chopped down, shredded, and bleached

Lined with blue horizontal lines so I stay on the track they have given me

Lined with two red vertical lines to keep me inside their boundaries

Covered in invisible scars from where they pressed to hard on the paper on top of me

There's ink on my paper that I put there

A path with a moon cause I've only ever known to walk in darkness

An anchor to remind me why I stay

And a word to take all the invisible scars away

I am made of fire

It flows through my veins

I am a creater and destroyer

But I've learned to simmer it

Because they didn't like it when it lashed out and seared them

I am made of mountains

The places I've called home

Paper is flimsy and my fire is dying

But mountains are made of stone

You can see them hiding in my cheekbones

Or when I set my jaw

I am mighty, I am unmovable, and I am strong

My origins are pure nature

Mauled by mankind.

All that I am, all I’ll ever be

A soft wind

In a strong hurricane

A fragile rose

Within a thorn bush

A broken leaf

On the forest floor

A fallen tree

Beside a beautiful sea

A farm house

In the background of a painting

A page ripped out of a book

That doesn't affect the plot

A coffee stain

Covered by a table

A single person

Alone in a pool of people

Who I Am

I am pine needles in Spring

the newer ones

a lighter shade of green

I am starlight

on broken mountains

of wrath and woven wood

I am in love with many

but a lover to one

soft blue eyes sorting out the shadows

I am two minds

who think twice

and debate which is the best way to go

I am the one who forgot

to leave a note to say

I'll be coming home before the sun rises

Statuesque

I am that thing that complains about the view,

But never turns her head.

Afraid-but not enough to run away.

I stand still with my eyes closed.

Like a child who thinks that wearing sunglasses makes her invisible to the world around her.

I am the kind that doesn't matter.

The one who raises her hand to say hello in return, just to realize the smile, affection, or friendly gesture was for the person beyond me.

I am the shadow that comes out to see the light,

Shies away from the spotlight,

Yet critiques those brave enough to stand directly in it.

I am an unappreciated statue in the park,

Bespeckled with the black and white scrutiny of the grey pidgeons.

It falls on me like blame,

Because after all,

All I do is stand there.

ME

I'm not always sugar and spice and everything nice

Nor am I delicate like a flower

Sometimes I'm a volcano, an earthquake or a hurricane;

a FORCE of nature that isn't necessarily pretty

But isn't it beautiful to see tall, solid trees bending for a strong wind...

or at least magical?

one thing's for sure...I will make you feel something

Someone

I am someone

Trying to find

A place in the crowd

To stay and be warm

A shivering soul

Looking for a blanket

A ragged one, at least

To keep me warm

I could be anyone

Born anywhere

I am nothing

Just another face

Another mask

I am someone

Trying to find

Shelter

But in reality,

I am just like

All the rest of you

I am someone

And yet

I am no one
