College

Clinton. I guess I liked her, well no, not really. I liked Bernie. I liked his ideas, well the thought of them. His passion in them. His hope for them. But, Clinton I guess. You know. First almost female president, besides the women who've been trying since 1872, I guess people should've done more for her. But hell, now we're all too busy running around like headless chickens because of you know who. I guess I like Clinton.

However, with both Clinton and Bernie, something doesn't sit well with me. Their think on education. Now, do I really like that bonehead our orange (self-proclaimed) overload like? Hell no, but I think the education thing is big. Now, I highly doubt I'm even going to make it into a college. Well, through a college (since I'm already in) without going plum broke. But making two years free will not be as good of a solution as I think they thought it would be. I mean, look at GEDs. People were excited for GEDs. A chance to get into college or get a job when you barely made it through high school Holy shit! I mean, people were excited. Now, x years later, a GED is just hanging over the janitor's wall or a filler on a resume. Of course there are people like Chris Rock who were able to slip through the cracks and land in caviar but most people didn't. Most people are still fucked, working in a 9 to 5, advising the younger generation to get their education and not settle for a GED.

Now can you imagine that being the case for colleges. I mean, it isn't even like the Ivy Leagues are federally obligated to be free. It is just community college for two years only. But, that would hurt as much as it would help. While that is free, some colleges may not accept that credit. Some jobs would be demanding more. I mean, if my teacher had only had two years of college instead of six, I could turn out dumber than I already am (in theory). The thing I really don't like is that the bar will just be moved high. As Lupe Fiasco said in his song Words I Never Said, "You get it then they move it so you're never keeping up enough." The bar is just going to move because whether we like it or not, America is a capitalism. Which means the top 1% that owns everything wants to profit off of the backs of its workers. It's nothing new and that's probably why we are dealing with the Toupee Fiasco. (Hehe. I had to.) So while I love Bernie (and Clinton by association) that free education thing is a sentiment I cannot cosign. Although now, I'll take anything over the hair-brained bastard that has been handed my future.
