Passed On

When I was young,

I sung a song

with a word

I heard

but didn't understand.

Hallelujah.

And my father

heard me sing

a song

his father sung

that he passed on

to me.

Hallelujah.

And when I grew

into myself,

I finally knew

the meaning of

all the little,

all the different,

Hallelujahs.

My Cohen is Not Your Cohen

When the wheels fell off....

I found myself

In the company of a Zen master

Searching for guidance

She quoted those lines from Anthem

I cried like a baby.......and never came back

Carousel

"The ponies run, the girls are young,

The odds are there to beat." - LC

I see the girl

I used to be

Spinning round and round.

No one prepared me

For this world

But somehow I learnt

How to reap.

No one can turn back

The hands of time;

Like this carousel,

We just go forward,

Till we get dizzy with the ride.

Bye Bye

When I heard Chelsea Hotel first

My moist eyes, warmed deep within

It felt good, comfortable

I was more, whole

Then through time

The feeling mellowed

In fact it matured

To a soft comforting ring

Now I feel sad

Not that he passed away

But because hope of other things

New songs, has passed away

Hallelujuah - Tribute to Leonard Cohen

You heard the secret cord

You played and pleased the Lord

And made us all care for the music

We heard it from Buckley and Cale

From Watchmen and beyond

But only you could give us

the true Hallelujuah

Hallelujuah

Hallelujuah

Hallelujuah

Hallelujuah

Rest in peace

Leonard Cohen

Hymn

In tribute to Leonard Cohen

I sang the syllables

but I didn't really

understand

I've never been in love

or broken by it

I haven't been in the world

long enough to

know a heart

the ways it aches

and breaks

The radio buzzes with static

cracks with electric heat

The laundry feels rough on the skin

of my hands

flaking and dry

A familiar song

sits in the grass by my side

sinks into my bone marrow

floats in my mouth

My lips open and

beautiful sounds

fall out

Hallelujah.

Traveller

I stayed

with you

in the

Chelsea hotel

on my 8-track

with Imagine

and Blue.

You were the

truest of my

secret friends

with Lennon

and Joni

and my famous

raincoat was

your favourite

colour too.

When times

got tough

and I gunned

the twin webbers

and drove

nowhere much

it was you

who played

the songs

of my youth

that held me

between the

blurred lines

of truth

and sanity.

When you

asked Suzanne

to take you

and she let

the river answer

it whispered

its story and

I travelled too.

Like a last leaf that fall off the branches

A breath will somehow come to its end

Remains a memory to how hearty it has been

Same as life, every happy and joyful moments spent

To everyone's heart and mine, you'll be kept

Inspiration as once was, and you will forever be.

Swiftly through the soul

The words seem to flow

Effortlessly on forward

Until in the end

Just around the bend

Truth is revealed

That heaven cried

When he died

oh

Hallelujah

Dreaming Of A Hallelujah.

Your poetry comforted me

Your songs just wouldn't let me be

And now I can't do anything for you.

I walked to the Chelsea hotel

Saw you there and rang the bell

But they wouldn't let me through to you.

Had you thrown me on the unmade bed

Cried like a boy when I gave you head

You wouldn't have left me would you.

You were religious that I know

your cries of passion told me so

In my dreams you cried oh God

and I came with you.

Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Halleluuuujah  .
