Girl you are wicked

In your fancy ribbon shoes

With the toes so worn

And your ankles bruised

Black, blue and hues of Crimson

Dancing on your stage

Of rage and players

Mending up with fragile stitch

The frail broken bough

The one they anchored

With their hostile tongues before

You ever touched ground

Keep on dancing wicked girl

You will feel their voices drown

Webbed Feet Buddies

Sketched at early dawn

pelicans line up single file

communion of birds.

Gullets swallow fish

prey struggles for freedom

expandable pouch.

Thrive temperate zone

plunges in coastal waters

waterproof plumage.

Air sacs keep buoyant

gliding and soaring in breeze

communing with friends.

Gregarious pelicans

thirty million year lineage.

Fall

The wind, It blows hard

Making the leaves fall down

On to the cold ground

Orange, red, yellow, pink

The leaves have lost all their green

In the season Fall

The air is chilly

Kids bundle up in big coats

To play in the leaves

It holds Halloween

All the costumes and decor

Scary ghost stories

Fall is my favorite time

Fall is beautiful

March On

zenith summer sun

baking men to crispest hue

bounty overflows

waning autumn heat

coolness ushers sweet relief

storing harvest prize

nadir-ed winter's ebb

snow-cast tundra frozen fast

ice-licked surface stuck

waxing spring-time green

birthing all creation's realm

quenching thirst of life

seasons marching - grand parade

hear life's cadence roar

Coda

Jericho's falling!

I hear the quiet tattoo

of stone upon stone.

"There's no time to lose",

said the thief to the beggar,

"sell your soul for food!"

No matter what war,

the venue for any fight

is always the mind.

Implicit in this,

now made explicit for you,

is nothing has changed.

Innocence will die,

even when love wins.

Faces of Death

Dark and brooding

Donned hood and scythe

Dreaded and feared

Bleak unknown abyss

End inevitable

Cease to exist

Decay and rot

Deep in dirt

Burnt to ash

Welcome peace

At last rest

No more pain

No matter perspective,

    death finds us all.

The Plagerizer

Lies cannot survive

alone, but thrive by counterfeit,

plagerizing truth

Parasitic worm

who leaches all his power

from the trust in truth

Sunlight will reveal

the plagerist's fingerprint

on unbacked copies

When the hour comes

for each one alone to stand

Truth won't hold Lie's hand

But those fingers cut to quick by Truth's edge

will show up that worthless, paper Lie

Insight

Charismatic fire

Passionate yet vindictive

Daring, decisive

Devoted water

Understanding, forgiving

Trusting, unstable

Independent air

Amenable and carefree

Witty but selfish

Empathetic earth

Practical yet creative

Logical, rigid

Akin to the zodiac

Elemental signs reveal

Suffocating

There are not enough

Tears in my ducts to undo

The rush'd loss of us--

Not enough octaves

To cover the hollow staves

Taunting my raw tongue.

The air is wanting

And my gasps find no purchase

In the low-hung clouds.

The sky is vaunting--

Baring down on me again--

Vast, loud, and unkind.

Is this what it means

To drown on dry land?

o l d e r n o t w i s e r

our hearts were so young

he taught me about the world

and i taught him love

he hauled a briefcase

to wall street while i slung a

backpack on my arm

hearts filled with desire

and lust, oh it was so real

when he slept by me

but the school bells rang

loud, and the economy dipped

beckoning for him

now his child lost her first tooth

and i fuck men twice my youth
