Sustenance of Stars

Our love leaks through mist

that falls through the cracks

of Heaven’s tapestry of stars.

Stardust flows through veins

bleeds through heartbeats

courses through universe

like a ruffled breeze in water

hiding shyly from sunshine.

Illuminating night sky

with flashlights of peace.

Stardust sprinkles our skin

and dusts our eyelashes

links our lips with sparkles

cosmos in our crevices.

Sustenance of stars.

Little Known Fact

Stars, allergic to one another,

Sneeze twinkle-lights

each time they pass.

Twinkle lights, averse to

the imposed solitude of stars, congregate in a flaring

mosh pit from dawn til dusk

after which, they lie low

making 'smores

with the light from the moon

Stars

I look into the sky

and see the glow

of a thousand years' worth of love:

sparks of midnight dances,

first time kisses,

and words expressed but not spoken.

They eclipse the night,

make the moon irrelevant,

and drown out the lights

of the unfeeling cities.

Twinkle Twinkle

Twinkle, twinkle little star,

How I wonder what you are?

Are you full of hope or spite?

What is it that keeps you burning bright?

Like a candle or like a wish?

Twinkle twinkle little star

I know there's more to you by far.

Starlight, Starbright

Starlight, Starbright

First star I see tonight

Wish I may, wish I might

Live to see the Morning Light

Starlight, Starbright

A gift from God, natural nightlight

A vow you won't be in the dark all alone

His grace and mercy will lead you home

Starlight, Starbright

A kiss from Satan, a seductive invite

She should be sleeping, but temptation calls

Cover of darkness, to temptation he falls

Starlight, Starbright

Bastard children, the Sunshine's blight

Promiscuous Sunshine, spreads his seed

To his responsibilities, he pays no heed

Starlight, Starbright

Accompany the Moon, join her every night

She nurtures the stars, she is their mother

Chasing the Sun, their Father, her Lover

Starlight, Starbright

A whimsical folly, accidental delight

Natural phenomenon, such lovely beings

A fluke of nature is all we are seeing

Starlight, Starbright

Wish I may, wish I might

Unknown composition, yet still I believe

I wish on your glow, my wish you receive

starlight song

in sixteen dreams i saw your words

morph into a silent song,

and fifteen second glances led

them back to right where we belong.

in fourteen paper planes i flew

my heart to you with hope and fear,

and thirteen pieces of my broken

soul told me that love was near.

in twelve rays of brilliant light

that mirrored off your splendid eyes

eleven thoughts like burning birds

flew graceful across darkened skies.

with ten whispered words you told me,

“wait and watch the fire bright!”

and nine whole minutes crumbled

in the fingertips of dancing light.

eight fiery pieces of your

broken heart you gave to me.

seven sang a song of loss

to blue jays on the hanging tree.

six and there was none but

you and i in time and space.

five whole minutes, “wait,” you said,

then let our fingers burn like lace.

in four dark nights we burnt to life,

we burnt to death ’til we were free.

three star lights, they led the way

to for evermore for you and me.

thus, two lost souls united here and

sparked the flame of freedom bright

and one charred flake of stardust floated

smoldering into the night.

Stars of Many Promises

Every tear that is shed,

Every wish that has been spoken,

Hopes and prayers of every generation

Will be heard by the heavens

And reserved by the stars.

They are made witnesses;

Constant and always watching

Crumbling civilizations and

Prosperous empires.

Created by a promise:

A promise to the lonesome,

A promise to the broken,

A promise to an isolated Earth,

Adrift in the chaos of time and space;

A promise that life will get better,

And it always does.

the overanalyzed beauties of the night

i wish i could tell you

that the stars foretold destinies

of future and past grave and glorious

but the more i encounter

human interaction

in this gloomy universe

i fear the randomness of the insignificant lights

up in the dreary sky

If the Stars...

If the stars were not made of bright flames,

I am assured that they would be fueled with something.

What would be liable to explain

The stars' light, for surely they do not burn in vain?

Allow me to answer

with a short parable

about a dancer

named Jezabelle.

Jezabelle died.

of what, nobody knows,

but the way she lay

did the story unfold.

She flew to the stars

with love as her fuel.

She drove herself into the heart

of the gaseous giant.

Nay, it wasn't flame,

but it was the light

of a mere dame

Full of love untamed.

A conveted wish.

Star light, star bright,

Where are you tonight?

Twinkle twinkle, where is your might?

Up above the world so high,

Your spirte is but alight,

Why oh why,

Is it being so shy?

Without you I cannot fly,

I cannot try.

My hope was high,

And now it's nigh,

Soon to be dry with a sigh and goodbye.

So please, I beg of you,

Peek through night's dark blue hue,

And help me through this bitter rue.
