Kafka On the Shore

Sir Kafka, always tremendously calm,

sits on his beach towel, rubbing suntan lotion into his skin to avoid being blown to bits--

He uses his one and only vacation day to watch the apocalypse,

insists on donning a pair of shades because the self-destruction of the universe

is far too beautiful,

far too bright,

for a nightmarish man like him.

(Kafka On The Shore by Haruki Murakami, published in 2002)

Collision

Our love was set in stone

From the dawn of breathing

And from the origin of species

Before the kingdom of Heaven was built

And the earth sprinkled with dust

A love so strong and ancient

A marriage between laws unwritten yet

and of animal instinct

When we met it was as if the purpose of our universe was fulfilled

It was the serenity of Heaven

And the beauty of Earth

Colliding

What on Earth happened?

It's the birth of our star

A contained force finally exploded

To feed the rest of the world

Debris from our love.

Without a Goodbye.

You break my heart yet again,

It didn’t mind if I was a friend or lover,

I just want to help you to be your best version.

I thought you’ve changed,

To see you’ve only gotten worse.

If I stay, I would be hurting myself for no reason,

So I leave you without a goodbye.

Book - If I stay

Wed To The Texas Outlaw

I find myself in the family way

furious, they make me pay

wed to the Texas outlaw I find myself

no longer on the shelf

but bad man he ain't

one could even call him a saint

wed to the Texas outlaw I find myself

and he is no elf

tall and broad shouldered, a viking you could say

never do I regret that day

sometimes I nearly faint

I nearly lost the chance to have this life, sweet and quaint
