Write Yourself In Scenario: You’re in a convenience store. You glance over and noticed a child has completely taken down a display and begun restacking it in a perfectly color-coordinated fashion. He’s very focused on his task, until his mother steps in and begins to yell at him. The child hunches his shoulders and shies away, and then becomes visibly upset, trembling and sobbing, when she begins stacking the display without regards to color. What do you do?

Cruel Mother

The child shies away and my pity slowly turns to anger. Anger for that mother, that has no regard what so ever to her child, that is a better person than her. As I think of how much more mature the child had seemed than his mother I couldn’t control myself any longer, and stopped the mother in her task of stacking, simultaneously stopping her in her rant. “Don’t you think your a little harsh maam?” I smile, barely controlling my anger for the sorry excuse of a mother in front of me. “Who are you?” the mother said it with venom and a tinged of curiosity in her voice. This woman was probably wondering why a teenage girl was talking to her. “Look lady this kid was doing a much better job stacking the things he knocked over than you, and don’t you think your a little over dramatic? he’s just a kid.” As I say these words, they start to sound like curses, and the mother's face turns to regret. She bowed her head, and whispered “sorry” in a very faint voice, grabs her kid and runs off.
