Desire based on a fantasy

That disintegrates

Once the seeds are sown

And reality takes root

Drought drains vibrancy

Pestilence eats its leaves

And the radiant bloom imagined

Withers

Crumbles

And blows away

Before it meets your gaze

Perhaps we forget where the path lies,

Between here and now,

To there and then,

A seed may surrender a beautiful blossom,

but never planted it shall remain that seed,

Dreaming of the beauteous blossom it could someday be.
