Not Fair At All

Bullying.

I hate bullying in all its forms, although I fully understand where it comes from.

I was bullied at School and I was bullied at home by my Mother, and all it did was make me introvert and vengeful.

It massacred my spirit when I was of tender years and it took a lot of introspection (and forgiving) to get over it.

When I left school at age fourteen I was convinced that the harassment would stop, alas to my disdain I discovered that bullying never stops, until the day arrives when you are forced to stand up to the bullies.

It dampens my spirit still to witness bullying, as I am only too aware of its affect on the victim and the years it can take to overcome it.

Bullying. It is a natural result of our inbuilt need to rise in the pecking order of our peers, and it is a particularly nasty human trait.

Bullying is not fair.

god is just a

wish on a shooting star.

heartbeats stop and

life still hardly seems subpar.

I listen for harmony

but I'm greeted with crime.

he lied only once when

he said he was all mine.

I claim people can't be

'broken' but really we break.

I try my best to be present,

another mistake.

life's not fair

just a big chess game

check, check, checkmate

down in flames.

Not fair

When the person you love has let out heir final breath but you still breath. When it's summer and the sun is shinning but you can't seem to warm up because there's a hole in you. When you finally fill that hole with new love and warmth only to have them leave you again, but this time of their own free will. When you have to stand back and watch the person who healed you be happy with another. When you have to pretend that even just hearing their name doesn't make you want to tear you heart out with your bare hands. When you realize that you will always come in second to someone else.

When you decide to end it because you realize that life just isn't fair at all.

Unfair it seems

The word of the leader

Over the word of a member

The life of the queen

Over the life of a Servant

All of these in comparison

In your minds, In your hearts

You all understand what is more important

What is weighted more important in the eyes of society

Ironic is it not?

Society are the members and servants

Yet they seem to deem the leader and queen of more importance

It seems unfair in my eyes

Isn't it in yours?

Life

Life isn't fair. This should be obvious. Get over it and move on your merry little way.

It’s not fair!

When the 4-year-old says,

"That's not fair!"

Because she's not getting her way

And I'm looking for a new job

(Because it has been decreed,

all throughout the land,

that all must be in possession

of this wondrous thing

called Health Insurance,

never mind that it'll cost me more

to have than do without)

And there are plenty of kids

that don't have a fraction

of what she does

or even one person to care

And then she tries to insist

that "Life IS fair"

And I just sigh and think,

"Well, you're in for a rude awakening"

(It's also not fair what I did to and)

Inequality

You're at work. You look to the picture on the desk of you and your partner. You instantly smile and remember all the things that make you love them. Your phone rings. Unknown number, you let it go to voicemail. You pack up your things, deciding to go home and surprise the love of your life. When you get home, the house is empty. You set your keys down on the counter. You call for them. No answer. You search the entire house. No one. You call their cell thinking they went out for something like groceries. As the phone rings, you grow more anxious. After the third ring, you start to pace. Eventually, it goes to voicemail. Defeated you call the number from earlier, they hadn't left a voicemail. On the second ring, they answer.

"Hello?" a woman's voice says.

" Hi, you called me earlier, this is Antonio-" before you can finish your sentence She says " Come to the hospital on Owl drive, hurry."

As you get in your car, you start to think of all the possible things that could've happened. On your way there, traffic is backed up. You see two cars, one familiar, possibly your car, unfortunately, you can't tell due to the horrendous state it's in. As you race to the hospital, sweat and tears rolling down your face, your body tensing as you make the turn into the emergency room parking lot. You start your way in, you see your family, and your partners mom and dad crying. You sprint to them as fast as possible, asking what happened. Your mom starts sobbing saying "Honey, there's been an accident." but you can hardly hear her because you're running into the hospital and to the front desk. You scream at the nurse saying you have to see him, but the won't let you because you aren't married. You would be married, you've been together for ten years, but in the country you live in its illegal to marry someone of the same gender, someone you love. You ignore the nurse racing down the hall you look into every room, trying to find him. Security catches up to you, makes you sit in the waiting room. While you're sitting there, you start to cry, realizing what had happened. The tears are coming fast now, you can no longer stop yourself from the horrible noises coming from your body. A doctor suddenly emerges, calling Mrs. Falcon's name she rushes to him, and you do too. You stop and look at his face. Sorrow. As he says " I'm sorry, we did everything he could, but he didn't make it. He had lost too much blood." You start screaming "NO." over and over you hadn't even gotten the chance to say goodbye or to tell him you loved him or anything all because you weren't married.
