It purrs but it's not
any sort of Domestic
short hair or long hair
or Cheetah if you please
neither Siamese nor
Chihuahua nor Labrador
nor Pug though it does
come in packs of three,
or seven, or even thirty,
though it's not called that,
but two's a "mob," and yet,
it does just fine
on its own, as a pet
not quite legal, only
merely so... it chatters,
even spits and growls
or barks in alarm..!
It's not much of a poet
though it does favor
William S. Burroughs
in a way, and breeds
in heavy rainy seasons
as much as it digs...
all of southern Africa
with light striped brindle
It's not a ferret, nor
lizard, though mostly
insectivorous ...
It doesn't do so
very well indoors
being all so very curious
On hind legs with pointed snout
it's even shaped something
like a question mark
