Lessons From the Band

While there are many things you can learn from a band,

I will just tell you some.

While playing by yourself is good,

playing with others is more fun.

The guitar is the one who paves the way

he's the first to play.

He leads the others in song

but still lets them be heard.

The piano is a team player

ready to fill in without fail.

The drums holds them all together

although he's not their leader.

The bass plays in the background

but makes the song feel whole.

He's not really heard

but when he's not there,

it's noticeable.

They all work together,

to make beautiful music.

Want to play?

“Want to play?”

“Yeah, okay.”

“No, not that way.

Want to dance?”

“Sure, I guess.”

“No, not like that.

Want to run?

Never mind,

I know you’d be

to slow.

You know,

You’re not much fun.”

“I hate to say it,

but neither are you.”
