Bleak Outlook

Dull and grey,

With rain today,

And more to spare,

As though I care,

Within these walls,

I'm warm, secure.

Let the sorrows pour out

Grey sky like your mournful eyes, threatening to release all sorrows at any moment.

The ridges of the clouds are equal to your muscles, creating depth and dimension to what was a flat world.

Golden hues break through the atmosphere as your blonde hair caresses the creases on your skin, as our hands do.

Such a beautiful disaster as yourself should be cherished, loved.

Oh, how I love you.

Sunnyside Up!

The dreary grey always darkens the day

But just a little

And from time to time they cry

But just a little

And those living in the grey

Share in their pain

But just a little

While the grey gives way

A bluishness awakes

But just a little

And the sun spreads its rays

Brightening my day

But just a little

An Ode to Rain

I feel your gentle touch upon my cheek,

And watch as you raise into a gale,

You have been watching me throughout the week,

And can't express my love for you so I simply express how I loathe hail,

I wonder where you go when I'm left alone,

What cruel fate do you let me suffer,

Come back to me sweet tender kisses,

Never should you roam,

Neither turn any more you rougher,

Stay with me my one true love and ever faithful misses.

P-town

Rain.

Rain.

Sprinkle.

Rain.

And oh, Forgive me,

Rain.

Following lunch

A slight of hand,

Momentary light,

And once again,

Rain.

The Weathered Retort

Grey, and more grey, and it's here to stay

And what is a wintry shower anyway?

Is it rain, is it snow? Does anyone know?

There's meant to be daylight; where did that go?

There's a sheen on the street that'll cover your feet

And the clouds have all joined to form one massive sheet

The grass has blown flat, and the gale that's done that

Is the reason that fella is chasing his hat

If the wind won't rescind then the day will be binned

For it'll get in your coat and make you feel skinned

And it's quite a safe bet, though it's not raining yet

You'll curse that umbrella you always forget

That's the weather today here in the UK

It's damp and it's cold, and it's terminally grey

So please wrap up warm in case things go to form

And Mr. Fish misses the incoming storm...

Everyone thinks you’re fine until it starts to rain.

The sky opens up and pours

Just like you wish your eyes did sometimes

Somehow you can't seem to cry.

A patch of sun appears

Covering the sadness with a bright burst of joy.

Then

Clouds roll in,

Hiding your emptiness from the world.

Everyone thinks you're fine

Until it starts to rain.

A High of 33

It's been lower than low these past few days

And I'm starting to miss the sun's golden rays--

But lucky I am, and lucky I'll be,

For today the degrees are nearly thirty-three!

It's a small little number, but context makes clear--

It's been so cold that frostbite was a valid fear!

So thirty-three stands as the high, for 'bout noon--

This has been the weather! Thanks so much, see you soon.m

Good day, sunshine

A cold wind from the north whisks the grey away

For the first time, it what feels like forever

Maybe this time, he's here to stay

But the sun is very clever

Tomorrow he'll find a new hiding place

Amidst the blanket of fog

And chuckle as the rain patters on my face

And stay hidden, the entire winter long

The Weather Today

Weather 'tis nobler in the mind's eye

To suffer…this dreadful cold.

I doubt it not but that something other's beast of burden

Hast wrenched this pitiful state of man in clouds of unshaken

Rain. It's raining cats…I think. But then again, could be dogs?

How should I know? I say I'm the weather man just so as I can say something about something.

The weather report isn't really that accurate anyhow. It's just one man interpreting a map with little 'squigglies'. I'd really rather dance! Fat chance. Get up and give a reading of romance? Or how about a line from Willy Shakes?! Eat your heart out, Shakespeare! Or what about a few anecdotes from Thoreau: "The weather today is bright and sunny. Ought to have a swim, but feeling rather cramped in my cabin now. Really ought to go outside. Scared of the beaver. Eating lots of beans these days. Not as good as mother's pot roast in town. O, I dread the day when I must confront Emerson and inform him of my poor state of Affairs. Well, at least the beans I planted have started to sprout and the water was very refreshing Yesterday. I don't know Why I'm capitalizing every other Word. Seems to just Make sense though, seeing as I AM Henry David Thoreau. Woldn't suspect my Neighbor of any suspicious activity, seeing as I Have None. Well, that's all for To-Day. Join us next Time on the Thoreauvian Weather Channel, coming to you directly from KISS 99.1 Boston."
