As She Pleases

behind locked doors

a little girl sits,

words rolling from her tongue like bullets.

"princess," they tell her, "your words should be gentle.

like the petals of a summer rose,

or a ripple in the pond."

she scoffs.

"the thorns of roses leave scars,

and the pond drowns children.

nature births temporary beings, not gentle ones.

come winter neither will see the day."

I will speak loudly-

each word a bullet.

permanant.

unforgettable.

... lethal.

unhappy tales

We walked through the woods, her ethereal glow was inexplicable. Had it been hours? Days? My whole life? She was my every Dream.

Kenneth….

She whispered, then vanished.

I went home to my family. I checked on my daughter before I went to bed. I stroked her hair and kissed her forehead. Melissa’s eyes flew open with fear. Then she smiled like a naughty cat and her eyes flared pure white, “Kennnnethhh”

My new Nightmare.

The Sitting Duck

She stood there like a sitting duck, a girl alone in the woods with nothing but a layer of leaves between her and the harsh sky above. Exposed against any princes that pried through the underbrush looking for pretty women.

She was pretty, no doubt but though exposed she was not as vulnerable as this would suggest. Enclosed in her flowery garments she held a knife. She would find those princes before they found her.

Stability

Once upon a time a girl named Jacey was born.

She was kind, but too shy to reach out.

When her parents died, leaving her with a horrible man, Scurge, she was devistated and more alone than ever.

However, an older boy, Jason, saw her scars and decided to talk to her. They became friends, even when Jacey went into foster care. He resembled stability, and, eventaully, love.

They married and lived happily ever after.

Greta’s Egg

The egg that Greta clutched so tightly was soon to hatch. The blonde-haired girl with a freckled smile couldn't help but wonder what was inside. Greta thought a lot about how she was just like the egg herself.

Soft. Warm. Fragile.

But all of a sudden, her thoughts began to change. She felt the egg beginning to tear itself apart. For the first time in her young life, she understood violence.

It starts at birth.

The Guardian

Ramsey awoke from his slumber in a dark and empty forest. A bright light in the distance caught his attention. At its source, he found a giant tree with a beaming white door in its center. Standing there was a large white wolf as large as the trees roots. It had been waiting. Fear gripped his soul, but the door was as bright as the Sun and radiated hope. He took his first steps forward.
