I say

the year is 2020

but it is soon to be 2030

horrific events that have invaded our peaceful lives, we all wish them gone

but that will not be so.

10 years from now, we will suffer

we will continue to suffer

and we will endlessly suffer

we will suffer the same catastrophies we face today

climate change, poverty, hunger, diseases, brutalities, discrimination,

overpopulation, deforestation, to state but a few.

and you shouldnt be surprised if we meet our end, our total destruction

for it is us, humans who have brought this upon ourselves.

you political leaders with your absurb desire to stand at the top,

and your facetious pride, prioritising financial wealth

over the health and safety of your people

you scientist with your flimsy yankee grit,

stubborn to admit that our earth is on the brink of complete destruction

thinking that a possibility of living on another planet is

enough of an excuse to abandon this one

and you helpless individuals with no choice but to accept these atrocious conditions,

born into a family with poor wealth,

with little more than a few grains of rice on your plate

starved of food, education, and safety

i say.

i will not stand idly by as the world goes to waste

i will not wait for the angels to grace us with their presence before i stand and fight.

i will not allow the strong of this earth to roam freely exploiting the weak as they please

and i will not forgive those who take advantage of the desperate for their own selfish profits

i say.

i stand here today not to cry for help but to declare war.

against those of power, who refuse to protect us as they should

who are so blissfully ignorant to our sufferings

who turn a blind eye to the tragedies befalling their people

i will no longer allow such selfish bastards to stand at the top of this unjustified hierachy

free country my ass.

i ask not for your obedience or allegience

i ask only that you stand with me agaisnt the true villans that roam this earth

the true monsters

hiding behind a human facade

i ask that we

stand in solidarity so that the weak no longer fear and the poor no longer starve

let us no longer allow wealth to dictate our families, our lives

let us no longer sacrifice the poor just for the rich to live if only slightly longer

let us build a world where we are no longer bound by such fragility.

i say

let us stand and save ourselves so that we can all look forward to 2030

so our children need not fear another horrendous era

a complete social and economical reformation!

you have your doubts,

you have your fears,

but i

Rachel A Maryjane

i say!

i will use every ounce of my soul

to right the wrong

to carry on this movement

unyielding until my very last breath

one would have to kill me before i begin to falter

i say!

let this message shine a streak of light into your darkest shadows

let my voice bring hope to you in these awful times

let my zest and my zeal galvanise you

join me and let us create a clear pathway into the future

abandoning the conventions of today that have brought us such misery

i call on you, parents, mothers and fathers, sisters and brothers, daughters and sons

let us join hands

for 2030 will be our year.

let us stand and fight

for our future and for the future of our future generations!
