We cried ourselves a hurricane
I heard this line in a song recently, and it was so tragically beautiful...write a story or poem with this line in it somewhere. Don't forget to tag me @chainedinshadow so I can read and enjoy your wonderful entries!

When Truth Takes You Out In The Cold

We floated

on pillowy clouds of bliss,

until truth

brought us tears

like the rain.

And we cried ourselves

a hurricane,

still,

the winds never swept up

the pain.

Dilemma
So recently I wrote a post with the same title as this and @JimLamb gave the idea to create it as a challenge. So it goes like this - "When you don't cry now on the things you would've cried for in the past, have you become more strong or more damaged?" Anything is welcomed. Please tag me in the comments!!

snippet #11

it's easy to forget when you weren't in love, but it's damn near impossible to forgive when you were.

home

i want a home to go back to

and i don’t mean the kind that has a roof with a bed

i mean a person

when i say i want a home to go back to,

i mean:

i want to know what it feels like

to find that home

within the soul of another

Don't hide yourself because you think you are ugly. You are perfect, scars and all.

Siren

My greedy lips tasted

That song that you left,

Words laced with salt

And notes tinged with death.

The melody, deafening,

Encircling my chest,

Ready to cut through my heart

And steal my last breath.

mahogany

i’m in a relationship with myself,

it’s monogamy

my skin is my wealth,

it’s mahogany

i stand tall in good health,

reaching to the heavens like a tree

they want to tear me down, put me on a self,

even charge a fee

i wish they wood

they wish they could

...

you see

...

i’m in a relationship with myself,

which makes me free

my skin is my wealth,

it’s the key

my skin is my wealth,

it’s mahogany
