the cycle

No one knows.

It doesn't matter anyway.

So what if it hurts me?

Right now I'll feel better.

See I'm fine.

And now you know

I'm hurting worse.

Where is my relief?

It doesn't matter anyway.

I am all alone.

No one understands me.

Here is my relief.

Just once more.

Waiting

Standing by a window

that is every hour closed.

I knock but no one opens

I wonder where he goes.

Somehow I know he's in there

but I cannot get through.

How long will I remain here

I don't know what to do.

One time I saw the glimmer

of a light come from within.

Was that a sign of welcome

or was that just a whim?

I thought I saw a shadow

flow by that empty glass.

Was it the one I wait for,

Oh, was it him that passed!

No, I have been mistaken

no one wants me here.

He won't come to the window

No, he won't come near.

Selfies

Photographs taken

Remind people of a time

One frozen second

Suspended - a memory

Everlasting yet fleeting

The Audition

Biggie Bear Blue and Mister Magee

Traveled to town at a quarter to three

One came on a skate, the other a shoe

They sang just as loud as a pugabaloo

The townsmen just sat on their hands and they say

Quick as the two came they just ran away

Home

When one sits to rest his head

On the soft side of the bed

Blue and green and white and red

Are the hues he might have said

That give ease to eyes of dread

To a man who's name is Ted

When he came to rest his head

On the soft side of his bed.

Betrayal

I watched them embrace from a distance.   My husband so dashing; she so elegant.  How brazen!

Oops, it's his mother!
