Regret

Should have

Didn't

Wouldn't

Couldn't

Not whole.

Hole

Made by

Shame

Disgust

Woe

Carelessness

Not me anymore

The Garden in my Mind

I do not own my home

My home is shared by many

No peace, no quiet, no time alone

And pinching every penny

But in my dreams I see a place

In which I can reflect

A quiet, tranquil, restful space

Trees guard its borders tall, erect

The vines creep sweetly over

walls both high and low

And blossoms each take turn and cover

My fragrant blooming meadow

And when I wake I find that I

May miss my cherished retreat

But I can face a brand new sky

And feel joy as we meet

Challenge

Bliss

Pain, tears

Tears of joy

First glimpse

My baby boy

Potential lost

She never found her happy place. She died before she had really lived.

Challenge
Write about your worst fear. Something that runs chills down your spine, stops your heart or accelerates it, makes you tremble in fear or just freezes your body and mind. Poetry preferred but prose is acceptable too.

The Uniform

An ordinary knock

On an ordinary day

But my best friend, the man I love,

Will not be coming home today

face at the door

Is respectful,remorseful, grave

But I don't want to hear any more

Not how he left not about how brave-

Heart stops

Eyes cry

Knees buckle

Why, why, why?

Thank you madam for your time

But I've given so much more

The lover that I once called mine

Will be coming home no more

PROSE

Please

Remember this is my soul

Open your mind to a new point of you

Since you and I are human too.

Every one of us is not quite whole.
