A game
So we're gonna play a little game. I will give a sentence to start a story and you have to add onto the sentence or make another sentence. The person who enters after the first adds onto the first persons sentence or adds another and it goes like that. Each person adds a sentence. It must remain PG. You'll have to watch the entries in order to know what to add on. EX: (1) Once Upon a time there was a dragon. (2) The dragon had green scales that seemed to change when they moved. (3) They lived by a castle (4) where a princess was trapped. Each number in the example represents a new entry. So now the sentence to start the story? Sentence: Had I known then what I know now, I would have never....

The 55 Challenge –The English language is a living, breathing, expanding phenomenon. Year after year, new words are coined as time, technology, world events, and fashions dictate—but fads are fickle. Many words remain as mainstays to our evolving language and how we use or misuse it. And this challenge is about words—see the description.
5 words of your choosing but in order to do so, you MUST go to this link: https://www.merriam-webster.com/time-traveler/2016 ... simply copy/paste to your browser … you will see a box on the page—just type in your date of birth to find words that were first coined for that year … Pick 5 words (some may actually be two or three words, as a well-known phrase, but only counts as one) for a 5 line stanza (no run-on lines please), so make this a true quintet. I have alloted for a total of 55 words. Do not tell anyone what words you have chosen … see if the reader can spot them. Tag me in the comment portion @Danceinsilence … and I will start it off, so you get the idea.

The Digital Age

After years and years I have learned of many life hacks,

like how to get rid of e-waste.

On social media where there is information galore,

podcasts that teach even more.

For some reason everything must be blocked by a pay wall.

Elves, Pegasi, Fairies, and Griffins

Flower fields being tended by fairies with colorful wings and outfits to match. The flowers sparkle and glistene in every color. The fairies fly around with green watering cans.

Not too far away a luscious forest has elves wandering around. They watch over the trees and protect the woodlen creatures. The elves are always everywhere, in the trees, behind the bushes. The elves live in tree houses or underground tunnels.

Above the world high in the clouds pegasi flew. Many pegasus families shared large palaces hidden in clouds. Young pegasi walk out on clouds preparing to test their wings for the first time. Older pegasi went door to door distributing food and other goods to all pegasi.

Throughout mountain ranges griffins run and play. Little cubs roll around play fighting; their parents never far away keeping a watchful eye on the little ones. Chasing each other around having fun times knowing they are always protected by the large griffins who circle over the mountains.

All is peaceful in all the land.

I love lists. I write them all the time, for everything. Grocery, chores, "to-do", travel plans, daydreams, holiday, story ideas, "table of contents", and the list goes on and on. I sometimes find lists tucked away that remind me of certain times in my life...and it's crazy how provoking in both thought and emotion that can be. It's just a list. This challenge is also just a list. That's the only requirement. It must be an obvious list, even if it is not a standard list. I'll pick the one that I think is the most creative, the most meaningful, the most hilarious, or the most something... But as always, I'll use my fellow writers' opinions to dissuade bias (though bias is completely allowed in these situations, ha)...and I'll choose from the top 5 most 'liked' entries. No mass tagging. Liking other entrants and commenting is encouraged...cause that's fun. 25 entrants max and it's done. 10 minimum. What's your list!?
10 minimum entrants. 25 maximum entrants. No mass tagging. Must be an obvious list. No style, length, or subject requirements. Feel free to message me with any questions.

A Deep Breath

I lay in a warm bed with the covers pulled up to my shoulders. Starring up at a white ceiling. While a puppy lays beside me, her wet black nose nudging my face. My left hand reaches out to pet her soft fur. The puppy cuddles closer to me, sniffing the air. She sets her head on my chest, at peace with the world. I take a deep breath and close my eyes. Now is a time for rest.

My Freedom

Being free is feeling free

Standing in an open field

Head tilted back

Arms spread wide

Wind in my hair

Watching the sky

Grass between my toes

Birds flying by

Clouds in fun shapes

I close my eyes and

I take a deep breathe

Knowing I am free
