Skin Deep
O metamorphosis! Thy harrowing grace,
Unfurls a tale of flesh, set to efface.
In chambers dim where sanity's thread is thin,
An evolution dire does therein begin.
What once was man, with skin so smooth and fair,
Doth break and crack, a sight to deeply scare.
O disintegrate! For thou art the word,
That ushers in the change, horrific, blurred.
The sinews twist, the bones contort and bend,
A living sculpture that no God did intend.
In eyes once filled with human light and plea,
There lurks a darkness, abyss staring free.
Each layer peels, a fabric torn asunder,
While roaring screams give voice to living thunder.
The form is lost, identity erased,
An avatar of dread stands in its place.
O metamorphosis! Thy work complete,
The human shell gives way, in full defeat.
Now something else walks, an enigma great,
A monument to wills that disintegrate.
Eclipse of Sanity...
In ancient times, when Earth was yet a child,
A scholar roamed, his quest for knowledge wild.
He gazed upon the stars, those orbs so grand,
And wondered what lay far from this small land.
He summoned arts forbidden, dark, arcane,
To pry apart the cosmic mind’s domain.
One fateful night, his chants took on a form,
Unveiling truths that break the mortal norm.
“Deimos & Phobos,” he whispered low,
Names of Mars’ moons, embodying our woe.
Through them, he sought a path beyond the veil,
To grasp what even sages’ words would fail.
He sailed through space, an astral voyager,
Past suns and moons, a lonely wanderer.
The scales fell from his eyes, the truth laid bare:
A universe indifferent, without care.
He saw great entities, so vast and cold,
Their forms a horror, making young men old.
Eclipsed by their great shadow, he did find,
A growing darkness settling in his mind.
His soul now touched by that which can’t be known,
He realized he’d never more be flown.
Returned to Earth, but shattered, broke, undone,
Aware his fall to madness had begun.
He scribbled words, a manic, desperate scrawl,
“The universe, it doesn’t care at all.
Deimos & Phobos, they are but the key,
To open doors that lead to lunacy.”
As years rolled on, he vanished from all sight,
His name forgot, erased from history’s light.
Yet sometimes still, when night skies are exposed,
Some chant the dreaded names—Deimos & Phobos.
Retribution’s Cold Grip
In chambers dark where candles glow,
A tale unfolds of woe and dread.
For long ago, through ice and snow,
A spirit roamed, her joy long dead.
She wandered 'cross the frozen moor,
Her psyche torn, her essence sore.
She had been wronged, her spirit bound,
By fiends who tortured mind and soul.
In chambers deep beneath the ground,
They broke her will, made horror whole.
The air grew cold, her eyes like ice,
A frozen gaze, exacting price.
Years passed away, the fiends grew old,
They thought they'd buried all their sins.
But specters rise when nights are cold,
Retribution then begins.
With frozen heart and ghostly might,
She haunts their dreams each endless night.
The walls ooze fear, the air turns chill,
As spectral footsteps echo near.
No warmth remains, all fires kill,
When ghostly whispers fill the ear.
Through frozen time, her vengeance lasts,
A payback for her tortured past.
The Delivery... a snippet
In a van, alone, she drives through empty lanes,
Delivering packages, while battling mental chains.
The road before her blurs, her thoughts are clouds,
Her paranoia dressed in ever-thickening shrouds.
Through rear-view mirror, she feels a watchful gaze,
From doorbell cameras, in a never-ending maze...

Blood and Roses
Here's a snippet of today's horror-themed poem posted on my blog:
But you were also a vampire of the dark
I was a human of the light
We were enemies by fate and mark
We were doomed to fight
You gave me your blood as a gift
I gave you my heart as a pledge

A snippet...
A snippet of a #poem I just published to my blog, keeping in the #horror style. I'm enjoying this more than I thought I would...
For in the quest for love, passion, or fate,
Lurk unseen dangers, before it’s too late."

Silent Mystery.
Silent letters in the night
Silent screams of fright
Fright and fear in the air
Fright and panic everywhere
Everywhere there is a clue
Everywhere there is a shoe
Shoe with blood and mud
Shoe that belongs to Bud
Bud who went missing last week
Bud who loved to play hide and seek
Seek and find the truth
Seek and solve the mystery
Mystery of the haunted house
Mystery of the silent mouse
Mouse that saw it all
Mouse that heard the call
Call for help and mercy
Call for justice and peace
Peace and quiet in the grave
Peace and harmony in the brave
Brave enough to face the dark
Brave enough to leave a mark
Mark of courage and hope
Mark of love and cope
Cope with the loss and grief
Cope with the shock and disbelief
Disbelief in the evil deed
Disbelief in the silent letters
Letters that spell out a name
Letters that reveal a shame
Shame of a killer on the loose
Shame of a crime with no excuse
Excuse me for being sad
Excuse me for being mad
Mad at the world and fate
Mad at the silent letters
Letters that haunt me in my dreams
Letters that make me want to scream
Scream out loud and cry
Scream silent letters goodbye
Goodbye to Bud and his smile
Goodbye to him for a while
While I wait for justice to be done
While I remember silent letters in the sun.

Fear is Me
I'm feeling like I'm about to break
Anxiety and fear, I can't shake it
My heart is beating out of my chest
A slave to my mind, as my thoughts attack me
I am standing at the edge of a cliff
And I can't turn around.
There’s no way out.
I'm feeling like I'm about to break
It feels like a tsunami consuming me
I can't breathe and I break into a sweat
My thoughts are running away
I'm paralyzed. Fear is me.
